A History of Service since 1981
Dennis and Regina Fenton opened their doors in 1981 with a goal of making Illuminate (formerly 17-90 Lighting Showroom) one of New England’s premier lighting stores for homeowners, contractors, and commercial customers. With almost 50 years of serving Maine’s midcoast community, The Fenton’s have achieved that goal.
In 2025, Dennis and Regina’s son, Shane Fenton, and his wife, Carisa Carney Fenton, purchased the business and began to update and change the business model to fit the needs of today’s market. “We are so grateful to be carrying on a family business” says Shane, who was asked my his parents 10 years ago to help run the business. His previous career as a contractor has definitely assisted him in the technical aspects of the work, and has formed many relationships with trade professionals. Carisa comes from a marketing, hospitality and retail management background , giving her the ability to create systems and flows for the business. Both Shane and Carisa have a natual eye for design and together they offer a dynamic team with technicial and creative experience!
